The clear oak finish or walnut finish of the top and the black metal legs are the perfect urban chic touch for you dining area. For delivery purposes, this item comes disassembled (top and base separate) with an instruction leaflet and allen key. Assembly is easy and should take approximately 5 minutes to join the base and table top with the 5 screws provided. Our team is a call away should you have any further questions.
Our designers and makers at Furniturespot love to work with engineered wood, also known as veneer. We only use engineered oak for our furniture items because we love the texture of that wood type in combination with the different available finishes. Engineered oak is a solid timber top (0.3 mm of solid oak) in conjunction with a multi-layer MDF base. Thanks to our clever construction, our engineered wood tops do not expand and contract to the same extent as solid wood tops. But our engineered top’s really special feature is the fact that it’s topped off with solid oak, making the end result look just like solid wood but for a much better price! We receive weekly questions why we are using engineered oak and not solid oak throughout. To start with, the price is 400% cheaper than a solid oak top. It is better resistant to the South African climate with no risk of cupping, bowing, cracking of the top and it is easy in maintenance. Do we need to say more?
