Please let us introduce you to our Khaya TV cabinet. With gorgeous, oak panelling and storage space to spare, the Khaya TV cabinet is ready to be at the centre of your space’s attention. It has two flip down drawers to keep the items you do not want to see and it has an open middle console for all your gaming and TV equipment.
Our designers and makers at Furniturespot love to work with engineered wood, also known as veneer. We only use engineered oak for our furniture items because we love the texture of that wood type in combination with the different available finishes. Engineered oak is a solid timber top (0.3 mm of solid oak) in conjunction with a multi-layer MDF base. Thanks to our clever construction, our engineered wood tops do not expand and contract to the same extent as solid wood tops. But our engineered top’s really special feature is the fact that it’s topped off with solid oak, making the end result look just like solid wood but for a much better price! We receive weekly questions why we are using engineered oak and not solid oak throughout. To start with, the price is 400% cheaper than a solid oak top. It is better resistant to the South African climate with no risk of cupping, bowing, cracking of the top and it is easy in maintenance. Do we need to say more?
